Siemens Limited has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the electric vehicle division of Mumbai-based Mass-Tech Controls Private Limited for Rs 38 crore. Despite being the third-largest auto market in the world, no Indian company is likely to achieve a meaningful global share of electric vehicles in the near future, warns a report by S&P Global Ratings. According to the study, India's slow takeup of EVs means it remains a ripe target for electric vehicle firms. Furthermore, the report states that the country will require a greater focus on charging infrastructure to achieve growth beyond the two- and three-wheeler segment.

Eleven electric luxury cars and SUVs are set to launch in India this fiscal year, out of a total of 48 passenger vehicle launches. BENGALURU: Just a day before the announcement of assembly election results, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) on Friday approved increase in power tariff by 70 paise per unit on average in the steepest revision in a decade. Electricity supply companies (escoms) had demanded a hike of Rs 1.39 per unit.

Various PSUs have approached the NDMC for setting up public charging stations.
