RANCHI: Driving to Ranchi’s Birsa Munda international airport in an electric vehicle (EV) for pick up or drop would become hassle-free as two EV charging stations were opened on Wednesday at the airport. It is the first charging facility set up by Tata Power at an airport in the country.

Siemens to acquire Mass-Tech Controls’ EV division for Rs 38 crore
Siemens Limited has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the electric vehicle division of Mumbai-based Mass-Tech Controls Private Limited for Rs 38 crore. The division is engaged in design, engineering and manufacturing of a wide range of AC chargers, and 30 to 300kW capacity DC chargers for various end applications for EVs. The acquisition is subject to fulfilment of condition precedent as agreed between the parties and receipt of requisite regulatory, statutory and other approvals.

India ripe target for EV companies but domestic take up slow: Report
Despite being the third-largest auto market in the world, no Indian company is likely to achieve a meaningful global share of electric vehicles in the near future, warns a report by S&P Global Ratings. According to the study, India's slow takeup of EVs means it remains a ripe target for electric vehicle firms. Charged Up: Luxury auto companies are set to drive in more EVs in FY24
Eleven electric luxury cars and SUVs are set to launch in India this fiscal year, out of a total of 48 passenger vehicle launches. Karnataka power tariff hiked by 70 paise per unit, highest in 10 years; rates effective from April 1

Battery swapping de-links the vehicle and fuel source, such as a battery, and thereby leads to a reduction in vehicle upfront costs. Various PSUs have approached the NDMC for setting up public charging stations.
