India has over 1 million EVs, 1,742 public charging stations: Gadkari
As per Vahan 4 data, as of March 25 this year, a total of 10,76,420 EVs and a total of 1,742 Public Charging Stations (PCS), as per the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), are operational. The number of electric vehicles on roads in India has reached over ten lakhs with around 1,700 charging stations operational in public places across the country, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari informed Lok Sabha in a written reply.
Starting June 1, Delhiites can charge their EVs free of cost from noon to 3pm
The move is aimed at promoting the use of electric vehicles and also to incentivise EV charging at public stations, authorities said. This initiative of free afternoon charge to EV users is being taken up by an EV charging start-up ElectriVa, which has set up over 40 public charging stations in partnership with the three civic bodies.

Maharashtra To Get 50 New EV Charging Stations
Energy Minister- Nitin Raut on Monday announced setting up of 50 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for Maharashtra. According to a new report published in Times Of India, MSEDCL will set up 50 new EV charging stations, including six in Thane, 10 in Navi Mumbai, 18 in Pune, six in Nagpur and two each in Nashik, Aurangabad, Solapur, Kolhapur and Amravati. The state plans a total 5,000 new EV charging stations across the state, with 1,500 in Mumbai metropolitan region.

BPCL to set up 100 fast EV charging corridors on national highways
Oil marketing company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has announced an investment of around ₹200 crore this fiscal to set up 100 fast electric vehicles charging corridors along national highways. BPCL made the announcement on Wednesday, saying that these corridors, to be set up along the 100 busiest national highways across India, will have 2,000 EV charging stations.
Rajasthan govt comes up with e-vehicle policy; sanctions Rs 40 cr for e-vehicle purchase grant
Under this, the government approved the proposed one-time contribution on the purchase of electric vehicles and an additional budget provision of Rs 40 crore for reimbursement of State Goods and Services Tax (SGST). The state government had announced to reimburse Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 SGST amount for two-wheelers and Rs 10,000 to 20,000 for the purchase of three-wheelers according to the battery capacity of the vehicle.

"Cumulatively, till now we've invested close to Rs 50 crore in this business and going forward we are ready to put in up to Rs 200 crore in less than next 12 months," Mehta told PTI.
