Safety, performance top concerns for electric scooter buyers: Survey

On April 21, the central government issued an advice after more than two dozen e-two-wheelers caught fire between March and April of this year, warning manufacturers of electric vehicles that they must recall all defective batches of vehicles promptly as a precaution or face severe penalties. The government has also formed a committee comprised of specialists from the Indian Institute of Science and the Centre for Fire, Explosive, and Environment Safety to conduct in-depth research and provide "quality-centric" rules for the production of electric vehicles.
